Taapsee Pannu is an Indian actress who has worked in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi films.
She was born in a Sikh family to Dilmohan Singh Pannu (Father) and Nirmaljeet Pannu (Mother) on 1 August 1987 in New Delhi, India. Her family background is from Ludhiana, Punjab, India. She has a younger sister, Shagun Pannu.
Initially, her name was linked with actor, Mahat Raghavendra and then with badminton player, Mathias Boe.
Taapsee Pannu went to Mata Jai Kaur Public School in Ashok Vihar, Delhi for her schooling and Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology in New Delhi for her bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering. She also had plans to do an MBA and even cleared the CAT entrance exam with a score of 88.
She started her career as a software engineer and developed an app, FontSwap. Later, Taapsee got selected for the reality TV show, Get Gorgeous that was aired on Channel V India. This show received her huge fame, and she started working as a full-time model.
In 2008, she participated in the Femina Miss India beauty contest and received several sub-titles including Safi Femina Miss Beautiful Skin and Pantaloons Femina Miss Fresh Face. She has also been featured on several magazine covers including MaaStars and Just For Women.
Earlier, Taapsee Pannu refused offers from the south film industry because she did not speak the language. But later, she accepted it as a challenge and made her acting debut in 2010 by playing the lead role of Sravya in the Telugu film, Jhummandi Naadam. Taapsee has also done numerous other famous films in various languages like Aadukalam (Tamil, 2011) as Irene Claude, Mr. Perfect (Telugu, 2011) as Maggie, Chashme Baddoor (Hindi, 2013) as Seema, Arrambam (Tamil, 2013) as Anitha, Pink (Hindi, 2016) as Meenal Arora, etc.
In 2018, she did two Hindi short films, Baarish aur Chowmein as Neelu and Nitishastra as Roshni.

She is a trained Kathak and Bharatanatyam dancer.
During her graduation, she, along with some of her classmates started The Western Dance Group, and they took part in so many inter-collegiate competitions.
Taapsee Pannu co-own an event company, The Wedding Factory.
She is known to be the Goddess of flop heroes, as she has worked with several south-indian heroes which are flop.
